If you call during our opening periods we will normally answer directly and we can arrange for you to attend the surgery or to speak to a veterinary surgeon for advice.
For out of hours, night time or week-end emergencies, or if for any reason we are unable to answer calls during normal hours please listen carefully to the instructions on the telephone answering service – you normally need to select option 1 on your phone keypad when prompted and will be directed to our message paging service – give your name, brief details and at least one CONTACT number. We will then be paged.
The duty veterinary surgeon will contact you on the number you leave to discuss what action is required. PLEASE NOTE if we do not respond within 10 minutes of your original contact repeat the process as technology can occasionally fail.
Should you wish to leave a routine message at any time please select option 2 and we will return your call when we retrieve the message – you should note this is voice mail and only attended during our normal hours so it must NOT be used to leave a message if you need an urgent response.
We hope that you do not need to contact us outside normal opening hours but we do understand how worrying it is if your pet becomes suddenly ill or injured. There is always a Veterinary Surgeon available 24/7 in the case of a genuine emergency and this is normally dealt with by the duty vet but you may be referred to The Emergency Clinic situated in Faygate, West Sussex if the duty vet is busy.
Providing our clients with a 24 hour emergency service is part of our dedicated service to you but you need to be aware that out of hour’s consultations and treatment will incur a surcharge dependant upon the time of day or night. You should ensure that in accordance with our standard terms you have the means to pay for our service with you if you need to attend out of hours.
