If your animal is involved in an accident or falls unexpectedly ill, it can be an anxious time for you.
Who should you call if they need urgent medical assistance?
Here at Newdigate Vets, our own team provides 24hr support to registered clients. This means that if you do require veterinary assistance, your animal will already be familiar with the practice and our team, and their clinical records will be available to assist the attending clinician.
If an animal needs urgent care, please call us on 01306 631012. This number will be answered 24 hours a day.
During opening hours, if urgent clinical advice is needed our staff will arrange a priority appointment at one of our surgeries or a visit to your premises.
Outside opening hours, our out of hours service operates and you should select the telephone option to speak to a vet urgently. The emergency operator will answer and you should leave a brief description of the problem as well as your contact number so the duty vet can call you back.
On receiving your message a member of the clinical team will call and assess the problem, deciding with you the most appropriate action – this may involve a home visit or you may need to attend one of our surgeries. You may also be asked for financial information such as payment card details in order that a pre-visit payment may be processed.
If we have not called you within 15 minutes, please repeat the process as very occasionally it has been known for technology to fail. However, please rest assured that providing the contact details you leave are correct, we will always call you back on receiving an urgent message.
